Our business began in June of 2015.  It was founded upon the philosophy and experience of our founder, Dr. Abdullahi Mubarak, MD.  His experience at that time included 30 years of primary care and 28 years of addiction medicine with the ideal of blending both in the same practice.  He rendered direct care to people with drug and alcohol addictions in all walks of life and to their family affected by their disease.  He worked as an independent contractor, a self-employed physician, and a corporate employee, but to pursue his current ideals, he believes independence in self-employment provides him the greats means to attainment.  He believes that he himself as a treatment provider needs a continued program of self-improvement to attain his ideals as a physician and servant of God.  The staff is encouraged along the lines of self-improvement and the goal of embodying their highest ideals.

 

We view the life in addiction as a form of slavery with the exploitations of their disease by other people with addictions, drug dealers, human traffickers, some treatment programs, and medical providers.  We regard our approach to treatment as a type of emancipation.  This led to the creation of Heartland Therapeutics.
